CHRISTMAS TIME!
It's time to kick off our fifth year of the Manga Test Drive's annual Holiday Review extravaganza! As always, I'll be putting up a new review every day from the 1st of the month to Christmas covering some of the manga and manga trends that defined 2017.
That also means that this is our fifth year of the Manga Test Drive's annual Holiday giveaway! Our prize is once more a $25 RightStuf gift certificate, and entry is as simple as always. All you have to do is leave a comment below noting what your favorite manga of the year was before Christmas Day. It doesn't necessarily have to have be a new series, so long as it was new to you. After the holidays, I will pick one winner at random from said comments. In the mean time, enjoy the season, enjoy the reviews, and get to commenting!

Goodnight Punpun - it was an absolute roller-coaster of feelings & highs and lows, and jfc so much trauma & terrible people. Complex, unique, interesting terrible traumatized people
ReplyDeleteIt has to be The Drifting Classroom.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not new bur this horror classic got me terrified of what we can do to survive.
seeing these kids repeating the dark history of humankind, wars, blind execution of sick people.
Man, it was quite the ride.
Definitely My Love Story for me. It is rare to see a very muscular character as the main protagonist in a shoujo manga. It's quite refreshing.
ReplyDeleteThat's so hard!! I'd say the Rakugo Shinju manga just because I love the series so much & I'm so glad we're getting it in English.
ReplyDeleteAlice in Borderland. It definitely wasn't new by the time I picked it up, but I haven't binge read many series like I did with that one. A lot of the individual trials and characters caught my interest.
ReplyDeletePrincess Jellyfish for me. It's been a tough year, so I need the comfort read of this lovely, well-meaning, but soooo clueless cast.
ReplyDeleteAncient Magus Bride for me. It's been hitting so many places that just do it for me
ReplyDeleteOnly got around to Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer this year and it was fantastic!
